I love a classic polka dot print, but this one misses the mark...

An electrifying first dance...
At her reception, this bride changes into a more boogie-friendly dress. Too bad it wasn't as friendly on the eyes... I appreciate a bride that wants to show off her fun and whimsical side, but fin-like ruffles probably isn't the best way to do it (I am thinking a cross between a blue sea dragon/horse and mermaid?).

And the First Ever Dress Wreck honor goes to...
We've all heard horror stories of bridesmaid dresses gone wrong, or worse, been subjected to wearing one ourselves. I understand that brides want to shine on their Big Day, but intentionally (or unintentionally) putting her friends in hideous dresses may end up stealing her own spotlight. Case in point...
Mmmmkay...where do you look first? The oversized sleeve on one side, the green glitter/sequins, the peacock feathers, the peach sash and rose, the spiky green flowers, the peacock feathers...and don't even get me started on the ruching on the side of that skirt (or the nauseating shade of green, for that matter). Here's the first disclaimer for this blog -- I'm not a fashion designer or even an expert seamstress, but even an amateur like me can recognize a Dress Wreck when I see one. One thing's for sure, with bridesmaid dresses like this, no one's looking at the bride! (Hmm, might be a good thing if you are a shy bride...)
By the way, the same bridesmaid changed into this dress at the reception...can't say I blame her!
